Act Well

On a castle in Scotland sits a stone with this inscription:

"What-e'er thou art, act well thy part."

In simple English: Whatever you are, do it well.

Underneath the inscription is a grid-like design with different shapes in each square of the grid. Each line and column of the grid all add up to 18. Each part of the grid, though different, contributes to the completion of the whole.

So the real question is: What are you?

Some are mothers, father, brothers, and sisters. Some are teachers, leaders, learners, or followers. Each of us has different roles and different goals, but when we are all acting well our part, we contribute to something greater.

In a time when you seem cut off from your team, are you still acting well? Are you being true to what you are, and acting like it every day? Are you still doing your part the best that you can?

If not, make a commitment to better hold up your side of the bargain. The rest of your team, whether that team is your family, your friends, or your co-workers, depends on you to balance the numbers in your line and column.

Act well thy part.
